Aurorus / Applications / Sports Medicine
§ 01 / Sport & performance

Every athlete adapts differently. Measure it.

Sport has never lacked for things to measure — it has lacked a way to measure them often enough to matter. A seven-minute, non-invasive scan turns questions that were answered quarterly, or by feel, into a daily read: recovery, training load, injury response, readiness to return.

§ 02
The constraint

Elite programs already know what to measure.

Inflammation. Oxidative stress. Autonomic balance. Recovery state. The sports-science literature settled these questions years ago, and every well-resourced program can name the markers that matter.

The constraint has never been the metrics. It has been cost and friction — the phlebotomist, the lab turnaround, the athlete's willingness to be stuck with a needle in-season. Measure something quarterly and you get a snapshot. Measure it daily and you get a trajectory, which is the only thing that actually informs a decision about training, treatment, or selection.

Aurorus is a measurement layer built for that frequency: a single scan, under seven minutes, that produces a quantitative read across forty-nine channels — repeatable as often as the program calls for, at the training facility, the clinic, or the sideline.

§ 03
Applications

Six places it changes how the decision gets made.

Same instrument, same seven-minute read — applied to the questions sport asks of itself, from the sideline to the front office.

01

Sideline injury assessment.

When an athlete comes off, the call has to be made in minutes with incomplete information. A rapid objective read adds a quantitative data point to a decision that currently rests on observation, symptom report, and an athlete who wants to go back in. Particularly relevant for head-injury protocols, where an AUC of 0.981 was reported in a TBI cohort — a feasibility result, not a cleared indication, but the most directly applicable evidence we hold.

02

Healing & treatment response.

Recovery from injury is currently tracked by imaging at intervals, clinician judgment, and how the athlete says they feel. A daily physiological read fills the gap between appointments, showing whether a treatment protocol is producing a measurable response — and flagging early when it isn't.

03

Training optimization.

Periodization works on a plan; bodies work on their own schedule. Reading physiological state before each session lets load be adjusted to the athlete in front of you rather than the block on the calendar — pushing when the read supports it, backing off when it doesn't.

04

Draft & combine evaluation.

Selection decisions commit enormous capital on limited physiological information. Adding an objective, repeatable read to the combine or pre-signing medical gives front offices a further data point on durability and recovery capacity — captured in minutes, without the friction of another blood panel.

05

Overtraining & stress load.

Overtraining syndrome is easier to describe than to catch early, and athletes are famously unreliable reporters of their own fatigue. Tracking autonomic and oxidative markers across a season surfaces the drift that precedes breakdown — while there is still time to intervene.

06

Return-to-play clearance.

The highest-stakes call in sports medicine, and the one most exposed to pressure from every direction. An objective physiological read gives the medical staff an additional, defensible input — one that doesn't care about the fixture list or what the athlete insists they're ready for.

§ 04
Across every level

The instrument doesn't change. The question does.

Professional

Where the asset is the athlete.

Team medical staff, performance departments, and front offices managing multi-year commitments to human physiology. Daily reads across a roster; longitudinal records that follow a player through a career.

Collegiate & academy

Where the duty of care is heaviest.

Large squads, developing bodies, limited medical staffing, and a legal environment that rewards documented process. A fast per-athlete read makes routine monitoring practical at squad scale.

Clinical sports medicine

Where the athlete becomes a patient.

Orthopedic and sports-medicine practices tracking rehabilitation across a course of treatment — with an objective measure of response between imaging intervals.

Endurance & individual

Where the athlete is their own program.

Endurance athletes, combat-sport competitors, and self-coached individuals already instrumenting themselves heavily — and currently forced to infer physiological state from proxies like heart-rate variability and sleep scores.

§ 05
What this is

What Aurorus is, and what it is not.

Aurorus IS
  • An FDA De Novo cleared (DEN150004) electrophysiological measurement tool that provides quantitative data on electrophysiological and related bioelectric signals.
  • A general wellness and research tool that offers insights into an individual’s physiological and autonomic nervous system activity.
  • An additional objective input to decisions currently made on observation, self-report, and intermittent testing.
Aurorus is NOT
  • A diagnostic device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or injury.
  • A replacement for imaging, clinical examination, or the judgment of qualified medical staff.
  • A cleared concussion or return-to-play test. The TBI result cited above is feasibility evidence, not an approved indication.
